Will my GP be able to prescribe HRT?

This depends on their training and if they are confident in prescribing it. If possible, contact your GP’s office ahead of time and inquire whether the physician is able to manage menopausal hormone replacement therapy. 

In addition, it’s important to note that HRT in surgical menopause can be more complex to manage than HRT during natural menopause, and so if you are having difficulties with HRT it may be best to see a gynecologist or other menopause specialist.
