Yes! Many people with PMDD continue to experience symptoms into the first few days of menstrual bleeding. In fact, according to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, symptoms can last up to 4 days into the menstrual period (ACOG 2001). There however must be a symptom-free ‘gap’ after your period and up to ovulation.
If you are experiencing symptoms outside of your luteal phase then do see your provider to perhaps explore a potential PME diagnosis.
