If any vitamin or nutrient deficiencies are suspected, always reach out to your doctor to discuss any questions or concerns.
Oral contraceptive agents have been shown to alter the metabolism of certain nutrients. It has been shown that levels of folic acid, vitamins B2/B6/B12, vitamin C, vitamin E, and the minerals magnesium, selenium, and zinc are significantly lower among those who take oral contraceptives compared with those who do not take oral contraceptives.
