Naltrexone is a medication used to treat alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder. Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) is when a lower dose (up to 10%) of naltrexone is used.

Low-dose naltrexone is sometimes used to treat chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia or multiple sclerosis. This is not a treatment that has been researched recently for the treatment of PMDD.

Naltrexone has only been tested once in a clinical trial for premenstrual symptoms (Choung 1988). This trial has not been replicated, and in the 30+ years since the trial, researchers have learned that PMDD is due to hormone sensitivity in the brain.

Given this information, we do not have any evidence to suggest that low-dose naltrexone treats PMDD.
