Yaz and Yazmin are very similar birth control pills.

Most birth control pills contain a combination of an estrogen and a progestin. Both Yaz and Yazmin contain drospirenone, which is the progestin that has been shown in clinical trials to be helpful with PMDD symptoms.

Yazmin has a slightly higher dose of the estrogen component, ethinyl estradiol. If you are considering Yaz or Yazmin, discuss with your doctor which formulation would be best for you.
