Bazedoxifene is not available as a single agent for use in endometrial protection. It is only available in combination with conjugated equine estrogens (CEEs) in Duavee (a product licensed to treat moderate to severe hot flashes and prevent bone loss in menopausal women with a uterus, for whom progestogen treatment is not suitable).

In theory, this could be used “off-label” during cycle suppression, but we do not have any studies looking at its use alongside estradiol, so this cannot be recommended.

Duavee is currently out of stock in the USA and the manufacturers are unsure when, or even if, this will return to market. In the UK, this combination product was known as Duavive, but it has been discontinued and is no longer available.
